GfK Mystery Shopping
In the first part of the review I did on SCM, another mystery shopping company, I explained that mystery shopping is real and that you should never pay for information (hence this and many other free blogs that provide reviews). In this post, I’d like to share my experience with another popular mystery shopping company with you.
What kind of mystery shops does GfK provide opportunities for?
GfK provides more opportunities than just food mystery shops. You also have the opportunity to perform audits, compliance and customer service/inquiry-type shops.

GfK is in need of store auditors to evaluate Best Buy compliance with store policies, and each audit pays $85-$95. An audit ranges in length from 6-8 hours, and you’ll use the store’s equipment to complete it. If you are interested, send an email to: 
Am I eligible and how do I sign up?
You must be at least 18 years of age (or whatever the age is in your state for legal and binding contracts) in order to create an account. However, I have received email notifications asking if I know anyone (usually teenagers) that are available to complete certain shops which usually deal with compliance. Do I need a mystery shopping certification?
No, you do not need to be a certified mystery shopper or have a MSPA certification.
Where do I schedule shopping opportunities?
Email notifications are sent a few times a week. Before you can complete a shop, you must pass a quick quiz just so that you know the shop guidelines and other important information. You can schedule mystery shops at your own will through the website’s interface.
How much does it pay?
Compensation depends on the type of mystery shop you are completing, but I will say that they are very competitive in respect to the other mystery shopping companies. If you’re doing a restaurant shop, your meal will be paid for as well. I have found it to be worth the amount and time and effort that I had to put in.
My Experience & Earning Potential
I have using GfK for about a year, and I’ve had a great experience. Everyone is very friendly, and as I’ve said, GfK has a huge turnaround for quick payments. Online scheduling is a breeze and the surveys are completed within minutes. Everything is very straightforward. As a result, I believe that there is a huge potential to earn money and free food through GfK. Food is LIFE for every college student, and getting paid to eat is a pretty nice gig, isn’t it?
I have found the Buffalo Wild Wings shops to be perfect for me since my friends and I love to go there very often, and now I am essentially getting paid to eat out!
